Mammoplasty

Mammoplasty – breast augmentation (breast augmentation) – an aesthetic operation to change the shape and size of the mammary glands. Among all types of mammoplasty, endoprosthesis (augmentation with implants) is the most common correction, which allows not only to fill the missing volume, but also to eliminate asymmetry, slight ptosis, and also to improve the contours of the glands.

Breast augmentation surgery takes about an hour, and modern methods of suturing make them practically invisible afterwards!

Indications for mammoplasty:
  • congenital underdevelopment of mammary glands or micromastia;
  • asymmetry of the mammary glands;
  • sharp decrease in body weight;
  • postpartum changes;
  • state after mastectomy.
Absolute contraindications:
  • autoimmune diseases;
  • diseases of the cardiovascular system, liver, kidneys;
  • allergic reaction to anesthesia drugs;
  • oncology;
  • blood clotting problems.
Contraindications are temporary:
  • infectious diseases in the acute stage;
  • chronic diseases in the acute phase;
  • pregnancy, lactation;
  • venereal diseases;
  • hormonal disorders;
  • menstruation.

There are a number of recommendations, following which the patient will protect himself from unwanted complications at the time of surgery:

  • give up alcohol and smoking 2 weeks before plastic surgery;
  • when taking anticoagulants, cancel the intake in a week.
Method (place) of implant installation

The implant can be installed in different layers of breast tissue. The choice of technique depends on the condition of the patient’s tissues and her lifestyle.

There are three options for endoprosthesis placement:

  • Under the mammary gland: this method, according to some surgeons, allows you to create a very good breast shape;
  • Under the pectoralis major muscle: installation under the muscle layer creates a cushioning effect, the breasts are softer, and there is also a lower risk of capsular contracture;
  • In two planes (top under the muscle, bottom under the gland): this method combined the advantages of both approaches.
Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation after breast augmentation under hospital conditions takes 1-2 days.

After being discharged home, the patient must observe a number of restrictions:

  • avoid heavy physical exertion for 2 months;
  • exclude the sauna, solarium and hot baths for 2-3 months;
  • wear a compression bra for 1.5-2 months;
  • do not sleep on your stomach in the first weeks after plastic surgery;
  • try to avoid stress on the pectoral muscle.

Two weeks after augmentation mammoplasty, the primary result can already be assessed. The final shape of the mammary glands takes 6-14 months.
